On 31.12.2016, the total volume of trade increased by 47.43% over the same period of 2015, of which exports increased by 22.90%, while imports increased by 160%.
According to the Ministry of Economy on 31.12.2016 were registered in Romania a total of 146 mixed Romanian - Albanian, with a total invested capital of 21.92 mil. Euro, Albania ranking 56 among foreign investors.
In Albania, at the beginning of 2017, 10 joint ventures with Romanian capital were registered: CARPAT (based in Tirana, manufacturer of doors, wood windows), AL & RO (Tirana, based on import-export of home appliances), ALB-ROM (Tirana, import-export of bitumen, general merchandise, wholesale trade, real estate), PRET A COUTURE (Tirana, production and marketing of garments, fashion accessories and materials, and any other related activities), PALM AL RO (Fier, industrial construction, infrastructure), CASINO PLATINUM (Tirana, casino licensing), YOUNGMEDJA (Tirana, sale of advertising space, services for the creation and distribution of commercial traffic, advertising, graphics, printing brochures etc.), KONIG (Tirana, import-export kitchen appliances), INGETEK (Tirana, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical installations and air conditioning installations, maintenance and repair of electrical installations and power distribution, telecommunications, video surveillance and alarm for economic units), MEDUSA (Tirana, furniture trader etc.).
The main share of the Romanian exports out of the total of 57.10 million. Euro is represented by: the chemical and related products (15.72%); textile materials (9.56%); mineral products (7.68%); machinery, electrical equipment (5.00%); live animals and animal products (4.09%); wood, coal (3.33%); food, beverages, tobacco (3.21%); metals and metal products (2.08%); furniture, indoor and sporting articles (1.39%); vehicles, aircraft and transport equipment (0.14%).
